Instant euro payments bring speed into everyday business administration
Explainer · Europe New Times
The European Central Bank describes instant payments as transfers that make funds available within ten seconds, with the SEPA scheme designed for continuous availability.
For small firms, speed changes when a payment can be checked against an invoice. It does not remove the need to reconcile records or confirm the recipient.
The business question is operational rather than promotional: can the accounting process keep pace with the payment? Faster movement of money and reliable bookkeeping remain separate tasks.
